The Ford car was updated in 1941, in preparation for a time of unpredictability surrounding WWII. The 1941 design would continue in an aborted 1942 model year and would not be restarted until 1946.
Ford halted its truck and car lines on Feb. 10, 1942 to begin war production, but not before a short run of 1942 cars was built, making this 1942 a rare year! Changes were made besides a 3-part "electric shaver" grille and the parking lights were moved from the top of the fenders to between the grille and headlights. Tail lights were enlarged and moved from vertical to horizontal.
